Arraya Executive Takes Part in Cyber Security Panel at Leading IT Conference
October 27, 2017 – Ryan Benner, Arraya Solutions’ Vice President, Enterprise Infrastructure, was recently invited to share his insights as part of a cyber security panel at Tech Data’s 2017 TechSelect Partner Conference. Alongside two other members of Tech Data’s partner ecosystem, Tom Sharp (Vice President, Operations at Kelser Corp.) and Rick Cox (Manager, Inside Sales at NovaCoast), Benner fielded questions from business and technology leaders representing hundreds of Tech Data’s top customers.
The nearly hour-long question and answer session was entitled “Realities of Cyber Risk and the Need for Cyber Security.” Among the topics covered during its runtime were issues such as how to vet new security vendors and offerings and gauging the way modern businesses are responding to security threats. Panelists also touched on what goes into building an advanced cyber security strategy.
“It was an honor to be chosen by Tech Data to be a part of this exclusive panel,” Benner said. “I see it as a validation of the work Arraya has put in to becoming a thought leader in the cyber security space.
“As for the panel itself, I believe it represented the evolution that cyber security has undergone in recent years – and continues to go through to this day,” Benner continued. “Previously, security was thought about only in terms of products and it may not have even come up at all at the executive level. Now, security is a staple of boardroom conversations. No business leader, no matter their position, can afford to remove themselves from discussions about the policies and processes, and yes, the technology needed to build a hardened security posture.”
Tech Data’s TechSelect Conference took place from Oct. 10 – Oct. 13. It was held at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, CA.
