Windows 10 Support is Ending: Here’s What You Need to Know

If your business is still running Windows 10, Office 2016, or Office 2019, it’s time to start planning your upgrade. Microsoft is officially ending support for these operating systems on October 14, 2025. This means no more security updates, bug fixes, or technical assistance. Without an upgrade by this date, your organization will be exposed to security risks, compliance issues, and potential performance problems.

So, what does this mean for you? Do you have to upgrade? Yes. Operating these systems without support is highly risky and can be extremely frustrating for your team. As a Microsoft Partner and CSP, we can support your transition to Windows 11 from end-to-end.

In this blog, we break down what your organization needs to know to begin planning ahead for your upgrade.

What Happens When Windows 10 Support Ends?

Once Windows 10 reaches its end-of-life, Microsoft will stop providing:

  • Security patches: Your unsupported systems will be more vulnerable to cyber threats and compliance risks
  • Bug fixes: Without updates, system issues won’t be resolved, and your team will face performance issues
  • Technical support: If something breaks, you’re on your own. Microsoft will not offer support by phone, chat, or email

Cybercriminals actively target outdated systems because they know businesses hesitate to upgrade. Without the upgrade, your business will be at risk for ransomware attacks, data breaches, and other security threats.

Why Windows 11?

Windows 11 isn’t just the next version of Windows—it’s designed with security, performance, and productivity in mind. Your organization can expect:

  • Built-in security: Advanced security features like hardware-based protection and zero-trust security help keep your business safe
  • Better performance: Windows 11 is optimized for faster processing and smoother multitasking
  • Seamless Microsoft 365 integration: Get the most out of your collaboration and productivity tools

Upgrading ensures your business stays compliant, protected, and ready for the future.
